Marjan Plaza Hotel

The rooms are nicely equipped and the bed was comfortable. It’s a lovely hotel, though breakfast was the biggest letdown: the selection was very limited, and the food was plain and not very tasty. We expected more. There aren’t many good restaurants nearby, either, with the closest about a 15-minute walk away. Reception staff could also be a little friendlier.

The rooms are good and room service was good too. We ordered food to the room and enjoyed it, but breakfast was awful. The buffet had only six main items, and they weren’t refilled. Bread baskets, cheese platters, fruit, and sausages were empty, and getting bread replenished took forever. We stayed three days and I can’t say breakfast was good on any of them. The boiled eggs were always there, but cold. We ended up having omelettes all three mornings with whatever bread we could get. Book the hotel if you like, but don’t include breakfast.

The location is perfect, the rooms are a good size, and the staff are generally friendly. Breakfast was okay, though I expected more, and the croissants taste like cardboard. Staff shouldn’t be on their phones behind the bar. The room carpets were a bit dirty, the sheets were too small for the beds, and the bathroom had mould and could use better maintenance. The Wi-Fi was really bad for a hotel like this.

For a four-star hotel, the service fell short of what I expected. Staff weren’t very attentive, and requests often took a long time. The food was disappointing too: its quality, taste, and variety were all below expectations, and dining there wasn’t a good experience.
