Orchid Boutique Hotel

My food was being eaten by insects, and the place was both very loud and dirty. They also made promises to me and didn't follow through. I really don't like being lied to.

The building itself is nice, but my room wasn't clean. There was a cobweb in one corner, and the sheets seemed unwashed, with a stale smell, yellow spots, and crumbs. I also found small dark brown bugs in the bed and in random spots around the room. It seemed like an infestation. The staff member with short white hair was sweet at first. Then, when I was heading upstairs, she scolded me about supposedly losing my key, which I hadn't lost and had no intention of losing, and demanded to know my room number. After that, I kept getting glares from her as I passed and felt judged. Breakfast wasn't as good as advertised either. The sheets were unpleasant, and the staff seemed childish and unprofessional. I wouldn't stay here again.

Getting around Tbilisi itself was the one downside. We needed a taxi, though the receptionist was happy to arrange one for us. I wish I'd gotten his name because he was friendly, helpful, kind, and full of useful information. He was probably the hotel's greatest asset. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was healthy and nutritious.

The room was okay, and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. But be extremely careful when choosing this hotel in Tbilisi ########. There is no elevator in this five-story building, and they don't offer help carrying luggage, so you'll have to manage it yourself. I don't know how it can be classified as four-star. We stayed four days. Just before checkout, the owner's wife brought us an extra bill for what seemed like small, odd issues in the room. I think the owner makes money this way by taking it from guests, since I've seen similar reviews below. Be especially careful at checkout if you have a flight coming up. I'd recommend choosing somewhere else, as there are plenty of good hotels in Tbilisi.
