Being in a Georgian neighborhood was a real plus: local vendors sell traditional food nearby, and there are great restaurants and bars too. The Metro and a major bus stop are just a short walk away. Inside, the kitchen has everything you need for cooking, with a big dining room for groups and plenty of free parking out front. The facilities are all in good order, the bathroom is modern, and there are large closets and a comfortable bed. River-facing rooms look out over Tbilisi.

My wife and I had a terrible time in Tbilisi after staying here. I booked as an Agoda Platinum customer on their recommendation, but the room was cold and in very poor condition. The bed was noisy and the ceiling damp. This is a very bad place to stay, and it isn't a hotel. A really awful offer.

The owner's a nice lady, but the condition of Hotel Shalimar is nowhere near acceptable. The shower was full of rust, the bed wasn't maintained well, and the floor was in terrible shape. The room was so depressing that even one night felt unbearable, and I worried staying longer would ruin the trip. After a day exploring Tbilisi, you need somewhere clean and comfortable to rest, and this place didn't provide that. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a memorable visit.

The location was really good, and the room facilities were complete and clean. What made my short vacation at Hotel Shalimar special, though, was how generously the owner and staff looked after me as a solo traveler. They guided me and made me feel personally cared for. They even surprised me with a cake on my birthday, which gave my birthday trip extra meaning. I had a great stay.

The beds, rooms, and bathrooms are very comfortable. The location is nice too, and you can see a lot of work has gone into upgrading the place. Everything feels new, and the staff are the best.
