Sharden Villa

We left after just one night, even though we'd prepaid for three, and of course there was no refund. The rooms were shabby and the hotel really needs a full renovation. It's very central, but the nearby bars stay open late and the windows don't block the noise, so we barely slept. The reception ladies were super friendly, and the breakfast terrace was nice. Those were the only things I liked.

We spent about eight days here, and hot water was a problem on nearly every evening. The explanations kept changing: once they said there was a water issue and a technician would come the next day, which sounded like a lie; another time they said it would be fixed in about 30 minutes. Someone came to check and had the nerve to ask whether lukewarm water wasn't good enough. It seemed they may turn off the hot water at night. In my opinion, that's a real shame. If you can stay somewhere else, do that.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and housekeeping did a decent job. I also liked the rooftop breakfast area. Still, the staff didn't feel especially welcoming, more like they were doing the bare minimum, and the twin beds were far too narrow for an adult. Breakfast starts at 8:30, which doesn't work if you have an early tour. The hotel is right on Kote Afkhazi, close to Meidan square, so it can get loud at night. During our stay the music went on until 1am. Even with those drawbacks, this was the best hotel we stayed at in Georgia, and it's an okay choice for the location.

The reception team stood out most for me. They were respectful, did as much as they could to help, and had a really comfortable smile and attitude. Krestina and the wonderful young man Luca especially come to mind. I liked the hotel's excellent location and beautiful setting. The service was great, and the breakfast and facilities were good enough too.
