After visiting Tbilisi over the last three years, I have to say this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. My wife and I arrived at night and paid cash. The man at reception immediately offered us a 50 lari discount if we cancelled the hotel booking, and we went along with it. The room was shocking. The shower was broken, as were the handles on its door, and the mattress was so thin and hard that I couldn’t sleep on it. At breakfast, we arrived half an hour before service ended, but there was almost nothing left: a couple of inedible sausage pieces, tomatoes, buckwheat, and some eggs. Everything was cold. When we asked the chef where the full breakfast was, we were told we had come late. I stayed quiet and planned to come back right at the start the next day to see what the hotel offered. We decided to leave because the service was terrible and the staff were mean and unfriendly. Even the towels they brought when changing them were dirty. Reception refused to refund us. We spent four hours trying to reach the owner, who eventually said he would not return our money. I called the police, and it turned out the hotel had no documents or license, etc. The police spent another three hours dealing with the owner. He still refused to give the money back and ended up returning only 50%. They wrote up a report for the refund. That’s how we spent December 31st. The whole experience left us shocked and stressed out by this hotel, its people, and the owner of this almshouse.

Don’t count on getting a refund. The breakfast lady, goligo, was fantastic and helped us in the breakfast room. The pancakes and sausages were nice. Thank you!

Check-in was a poor start. The receptionist asked us to cancel our Booking.com reservation, saying cancellation was free. Once we did, we were treated like we weren’t there, and our concerns were brushed aside. Staff showed little courtesy or willingness to help. The room didn’t even have bottled water, and proper cleaning never happened despite us asking several times over four days. Breakfast was extremely poor too, and staff didn’t greet us with a smile or ask if we needed anything. It was a very disappointing stay and well below what was advertised. I’m asking Booking.com and the hotel to take this seriously and offer an appropriate resolution. Thank you for your attention.

During my six days there, housekeeping came to clean the room just once. Nobody checked in afterward, so I was left without basic cleaning and fresh towels for the rest of my stay. For the price and what I expected, that level of service was unacceptable. Very disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or stay there again.

The only person who treated us decently was the cook, Guliko. She was kind, smiled, and showed us basic respect. Breakfast was small, but warm and made with care. She deserves better than this place. I stayed from June 18 to 23, and the whole experience felt insulting and uncomfortable. When my friend and I rang the bell, someone shouted “Zakhadzite!” in an irritated, unfriendly voice. There was no greeting or eye contact. We let it go at first, not wanting to spoil the day, though it was already a red flag. Inside, there was no receptionist, only a confused housekeeper who couldn’t speak our language and had to call the owner. He gave us the room number over the phone, without a welcome, smile, or explanation. There were another guest’s shoes in our room. It felt disgusting, and there was no bottled water, welcome note, or anything to suggest the room had been cleaned or prepared. We told the receptionist politely, and she came to remove the shoes as if that were normal. We asked repeatedly for cleaning, but the room was never cleaned once. One time, the housekeeper came in, took the bath towels and footwear, and left. Another time, she changed the bath towels. The bins weren’t touched, the floor wasn’t cleaned, and towels weren’t replaced. Coming back each day after a long day to find the room just as it was made us feel like we didn’t exist. A day before checkout, the owner asked my friend to cancel the Booking.com reservation, but only if we weren’t planning to leave a review. He told her, “Cancel it if you’re not going to write a review.” Since the booking was under my name, she asked him to wait for me. As soon as I returned, he asked whether I’d cancel the reservation or write a review. I said I didn’t understand why I’d cancel when I was leaving the next day. He replied, “Cancelation is free. So, cancel or not?” It seemed he wanted us to cancel so our review would disappear and he wouldn’t pay any commissions. That didn’t feel like hospitality, but dishonest manipulation. Then he tried to guilt-trip us, saying they had prepared lunch boxes and we didn’t need to react that way. We had only politely asked whether lunch boxes were possible, and he had said “maybe.” On checkout morning, I went to collect the lunch boxes he claimed were ready. The breakfast lady looked confused and shocked because nothing had been prepared. She hurriedly put together bread, sausages, and boiled eggs. We left the eggs in the room. That was the final insult. Owner, I hope you got the review you wanted. Your attitude is disgusting. If you think this is how a hotel should be run, you’re in the wrong business. You don’t respect your guests, your staff, or the industry, and hide behind free cancellations instead of facing feedback like a professional. As an entrepreneur and hospitality expert, I’ve never been so appalled by such blatant disrespect, laziness, and dishonesty. You don’t deserve stars. You deserve a full investigation. Take this as a wake-up call. Guests will stop being polite, and we’re done protecting fragile egos when the service is this revolting.
