Louis Studios Hotel

Maria, who helps out on site, was so upbeat and friendly, and her island tips were great. Dimitris was just as welcoming and attentive. Their care and attention made this our most comfortable stay yet. The apartment was modern, spotless, and had everything we needed. We loved the pool setup, with plenty of loungers and cabanas, plus a private bar serving good food and drinks. We had a perfect 7-night stay in Santorini and will definitely come back.

We were exhausted and hungry after a long airport ordeal, but Dimitris Drakoutos made the night so much easier. He picked us up within seven minutes, even though it was nearly 11 at night, and gave us a room with no stairs. He also arranged a car to take us back for our 730 flight at 6 AM. A little grocery store with a restaurant inside was just a 2-3 minute walk away and stayed open until 2am, so my daughter and I got delicious pizza and wine before crashing. The room was immaculate, and the shower and amenities, including conditioner, felt familiar to me from the states. I'd been traveling from Paris through several cities in Italy and then Greece when Volotea cancelled my flight after I arrived at the airport 3 hrs early. It took a little over five hours to get rebooked, then another hour to find a hotel. I called several places and narrowed things down to hotels rated 4+ stars with at least 100 reviews before booking here. Dimitri was friendly and had already seen my reservation when I called. He was incredibly courteous throughout. Between France, Italy and Greece, I'd stayed at 8 hotels, including one in Oia Santorini that cost $560 a night, and none came close to this level of kindness and care. I can't believe the service. I hope to take photos in the morning if I have time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Demitri and thank you Louis Santorini Studios!!! I'm so glad I chose this hotel.

We only stayed one night, but the room was clean and nice, with bottled water and fresh towels ready for us. The airport pickup was included, and our driver was very pleasant. The pool looked inviting, though we didn't have time to use it. Remember to bring cash, since they don't accept credit cards. I'd recommend Louis studios if you need an affordable stay near the airport.

The local ferry from Armoudi Bay to Thirasia was a highlight of our holiday. It cost €1 each way per person, and visiting Thirasia felt like going back in time, much like Santorini did when we were here in 1984, 40 years ago. Armoudi Bay is also great for swimming and cliff diving. We loved Pyrgos village, thought Kamari beach was the island's best, and found the 30 minute walk from Thira to Skaros rock lovely. Oia was nice but packed with tourists, while Akrotiri lighthouse was worth seeing. Santorini is still a good destination despite mass tourism, and the weather stays warm. Even in early October, average daily temperatures were 27 degrees. We stayed 10 nights, leaving on 6 October 2023, and had a lovely time. Louis Santorini studios was affordable and high quality, with a lovely contemporary pool area that was clean and refreshing. I couldn't find fault with our stay, and I don't often write reviews, which probably says how much I liked it. The staff were lovely. Dimitrius, the owner, and Diamond at Reception were very accommodating, and we received 2 room upgrades. The airport pickup and drop off included in the cost was superb. The cleaning staff were very thorough and clearly took pride in their work. Christina runs the affordable bar area and was very attentive, with drinks and snacks available. The family also runs a mini market just 80 metres away, where you can get extras like croissants and bread for a self catering breakfast or lunch. Go before 08.30 if you want croissants, as they sell out. There are 2 very good tavernas nearby, especially Galini Fish taverna, which is a 10 minute walk. There is a local black sanded beach, though a car, ATV or moped could help you reach other beaches and attractions. Sightseeing on foot from this location is limited, so hiring transport may be a good idea. We rented a car through Dimitrius for €230 for 7 days. It was hassle free, with no CDW issues, though we also bought an online protection policy for €40 to be safe. I've been stung before by Goldcar! Having the car let us get around the island and try other restaurants in the evenings.
