Sunshine Resort

The owners were incredibly kind, helpful, and clear in their communication. We stayed at Sunshine Resort on two separate nights during our road trip, including one late check-in, and they arranged it without any problem. The resort is peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet just a short walk from the main road with plenty of tavernas and shops. It's about 13-15 minutes from the airport, and the road there is easy. The resort sits a little up a hill with a couple of short steep climbs, which felt quite normal for Kefalonia. Each apartment has a terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, with breathtaking views over the lagoon and sea. The rooms had everything we needed, and we loved the adorable cats living there. They were such sweet company. We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended, we'll surely come back on our next visit to Kefalonia.

It was quiet up on the mountain, and I found parking easily. The road up is a bit steep, but I got a great off-season price. My room had a balcony, a fridge, a hot water jug, and strong Wi-Fi.

Those views are the reason I’ve stayed here twice. There’s no pool, which was fine for me, and I loved the family of cats. The beds were comfortable, too. Getting up the steep hill can be a bit of a climb, though after a few cocktails in Lassi it didn’t seem so bad. In the larger apartments, the kitchenware could use attention: a three-bedroom place for six had just one wine glass, three forks, and bowls but no plates. It also had air conditioning in only one of the three bedrooms, so the nights felt a little uncomfortable. A few small things like enough mugs and glasses would make a difference. I’d recommend staying here.

The location worked perfectly for us, with supermarkets, tavernas, and lovely beaches all within walking distance. Our rooms were cleaned well every day, which was nice to come back to after exploring the island. Olena was warm and helpful throughout. We’d happily return and highly recommend it.
