That balcony view of the Acropolis was spectacular, but the bathroom made our four-night stay at Alexandra’s penthouse a miserable experience. The shower was absurdly low, with a flimsy rod on a poor hinge that barely moved. Its pressure was awful and the temperature swung wildly. There wasn’t even a glass screen, so keeping water off the floor meant pointing the shower sideways and standing in the far corner, where the weak spray felt like a wet handshake. We still ended up soaking the floor and felt barely cleaner than a stray cat. The walls looked like a prison shower block, probably from people trying the same workaround. The property manager also never brought the extra towels we needed to clean up. This is the worst shower design I’ve seen. Don’t bother staying here for the view. Buildings all over Athens have one of the Acropolis, that’s the whole point.

We had a big family room and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked quietly, and the TV was good. Great value, too. Next door there’s a nice spot for pizza and breakfast. Take some time on the balcony after dark to see Zuess Temple and the Parthenon lit up. Both are within walking distance.

We were there for four nights, and it was an awful experience. The bathroom photos didn’t match what we got, and the place was below hostel standards. The shower had no holder, the tub’s plug didn’t work, and there was no curtain. I had to sit in the peeling tub and hold the shower head by hand. When someone used the tap or toilet, the water turned scalding hot and burned me. Workmen were on what was supposed to be our private balcony every day, looking into the bedroom and lounge. We had to keep the shutters closed, so the view was pointless. They started at 8am, banging, shouting, and propping ladders against our door. No chance of a relaxing lie-in. They also spilled food and drinks on the balcony. The company offered a partial refund but never paid it. Even half the price would’ve been too much for this stay. Absolutely awful.
