Ariston Hotel

For the price, the two-bed suite was spacious and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We got unbelievable value from the half-board package, especially with those stellar views from the top-floor restaurant. The location was convenient too, just a two-minute walk from Athens (Larissa) station, where you can catch a train or metro from the airport. Central Athens attractions are just over a mile away on foot, or a short metro ride. The area isn’t the most glamorous, and this may not suit someone looking for a five-star hotel. Still, every staff member we dealt with gave five-star service. If you want a comfortable, convenient, great-value stay in Athens, you’d struggle to do better.

The hotel is in a terrific spot for seeing Athens. The metro is close, only a few stops from the Acropolis, and there are lots of lovely places to eat within walking distance, including Cafe Magica. The staff were a pleasure to deal with, especially the wonderful woman on the day shift. Just be aware that the rooms can feel quite cold in winter. I certainly found that, and I’m from Canada.

Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy, and the staff were genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The hotel was clean and well looked after, with a convenient location near the central station. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, but the menu looked substantial and the prices seemed very reasonable. A comfortable, solid stay, and I’d recommend it.

We had a peaceful stay in the 1 BHK flat, with all the amenities listed. It was in a quiet area, with mini supermarkets nearby. The flat wasn’t in the main hotel building shown in the photos, though. We had to walk two buildings down the same lane. We chose this place because it’s very conveniently located near larrisa station, and we had an early morning bus to catch for our Meteora trip. We booked two nights and found it a very pleasant place to stay.
