We paid £3500 for two weeks over Christmas, which was far too much, and we won’t be coming back. The area isn’t great, and I’d rather stay much closer to the sea next time. Check the hotel’s location and the rough-looking housing estate nearby before booking. We relied completely on Tripadvisor comments that we felt were less than honest and didn’t make sense, and regretted it. There are cats all over the hotel, and you can smell urine. If you love cats, you might love staying here. The food was lovely, but usually lukewarm. The bar and restaurant staff were great, though. They ran out of Estrella on the first day, had only Keo after that, and never restocked or offered another choice. At night, the entrance is locked and you have to get the night staff to let you in, which felt like being locked up. The hotel seemed more like a three-star-plus place than a four-star-plus one. Rooms near the dual carriageway get noisy motorbikes and cars racing past most evenings, which was very annoying. If you’re given a ground-floor room, check that the patio locks work. They didn’t in the first room we were offered. You have to cross the dual carriageway to reach the harbour and get back, so be careful if you’ve been drinking. Most bars and nearly all clubs have closed. I don’t think Paphos will be the same again, it felt like a ghost town. Such a shame.
