The Beatles 2-BR Apartment in Athens

The first day was a letdown. We had urgent plans but couldn’t get hot water right away, so we had cold showers. We only found out after messaging the host that the switch in the upper right of the apartment’s electrical panel has to be pressed, then you wait about 30 minutes. The system switches itself off after around 45 minutes. This wasn’t explained beforehand, so you can’t just wake up and shower whenever you want. We were three people in an apartment advertised for four, with two double beds and a sofa. Only two bedding sets were supplied, and when we asked for another, we were told it would cost extra if we wanted to use the sofa as a bed. The host’s information was poor in other ways too, including having to message for the Wi-Fi password. The building has no motion-sensor lights. You have to press a button by the entrance and another in the middle of each floor, or you’ll be walking in complete darkness. They also require a security deposit at check-in. Earlier reviews mentioned the hot water issue more than a year ago, so it seems little has been done about it. The location is good, although the steep hills make for some uphill and downhill walking, and the apartment is nicely decorated. But those things alone didn’t make for a comfortable stay. We didn’t leave satisfied.
