The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, so I had to give them 4 stars. The rest of the stay was a letdown. My room smelled stale when I checked in, and opening the balcony door to air it out wasn’t much help since there was no mosquito net. I booked the biggest room option, Rooftop Q, but it was tiny and made me feel claustrophobic. There was barely room to move around or manage my luggage. The bathroom had the strangest layout I’ve seen, and I hit my head against the wall several times while sitting on the toilet. Cleanliness was poor too: dirty cups and glasses, and stained sheets and pillowcases. Breakfast was the last straw. It was scant and not fresh, with cold, stale cheese and spinach pies, some cheeses, and tiny bottles of yoghurt. For 85-90 euro, I got a small room with no kitchen or microwave, a poor breakfast, and no sound insulation. The walk to and from the center took 30 minutes. The neighborhood felt pretty run-down and off, even though I’ve stayed in Exarcheia before. People who gave this place 5 stars aren’t to be trusted. I suspect they live in huts and think this is luxury, but to me the rooms were basic and primitive, with zero amenities. I could go on. Do yourself a favor and check other options. For this price, you can find proper luxurious rooms or two-bedroom apartments near the Acropolis, Koukaki, Syntagma, Kolonaki, and Monastiraki. This was far from my best-spent money, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I loved the location in Exarchia and had a wonderful seven-night stay. Restaurants, markets, and bars are all within a ten-minute walk, and Likavitou is just five minutes away on foot for those great views. The room was clean, and I liked unwinding on the balcony. There was even a fridge for keeping wine cold in the evenings. The friendly staff and charming café area also made it a nice place to work quietly in the mornings, with big windows overlooking the busy streets. A couple of things could be better: the toilet and bathroom aren’t neatly separated, so shower water splashes around, and breakfast quality could improve.

Breakfast was tasty and had plenty of choice, though I wish it began an hour earlier than its current 8-11 schedule. It was often a squeeze to eat before early tours. I stayed three nights and had originally booked a super cozy room, then got upgraded to a standard one. It was very clean and had everything I needed. The staff were really friendly and gave good advice. The bathrooms are a little tight, but that wasn’t a problem for me.

The women working here are so sweet and helpful. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of vegetarian choices, and the cook is the best. Our room was super clean and had a huge, really nice balcony. We had the best stay in Athens.

The bathroom in room 301 was the one real drawback. It’s compact, and the toilet sits so close to the shower screen that my legs, even at an average build, pressed against the glass. It could be a real inconvenience for someone larger. The rooms are on the small side, but the roomy balcony helps make up for that. We still had a lovely time at this clean, quiet, welcoming hotel. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the neighborhood felt safe enough that I, as a woman, was comfortable taking a solo walk. Breakfast was a highlight: fresh fruit, different cheeses, eggs cooked several ways, bacon, sausage, and other daily options. The barista-made coffee was excellent and always came with a smile. I’d highly recommend the hotel for its comfort, hospitality, and overall experience.
