Altamar

The staff were really friendly and worked hard to make our holiday good. The hotel itself was lovely, with clean, spacious rooms and a clean bathroom. We had a nice sea view and a big balcony. The pool was pleasant, not huge, but just right for a swim in hot weather. Breakfast had a good range and was good quality, and we enjoyed lunch and the cocktails too. Dinner was a surprise: the menu leaned toward things like steak rather than Greek food, and it cost more than nearby restaurants, so we ate out every night. You’ll need a car here, since there’s almost nothing within walking distance. We drove to nearby beaches, including Pefki beach. We came at the end of June, but this area mainly caters to Greek summer holidaymakers, so most restaurants and beach bars were closed. At the places we went for dinner around 19:00, we were the only ones there. Even though the hotel and its staff were lovely, we wouldn’t return because the summer season matters so much here.

The pool is on the small side, but it’s clean and the afternoon lighting is nice. The rooms are spacious, clean, and done in a simple classic-modern style. Staff were very professional and eager to make our stay pleasant.

The pool area felt like a little escape within the hotel, which was perfect since we love swimming. Our room was clean and really comfortable, and the food added a lot to the experience. It was good value for the price, too. What made the biggest difference for us was the people at Altamar: friendly, professional, always smiling, and genuinely helpful. We had lots of questions about nearby trips because we like exploring, and the location was convenient for that. We’ll definitely be back!
