Boutique 88 Fira

The big problem was the jacuzzi in the two-bedroom cave room we booked. It was really noisy even when it wasn't running, and we couldn't sleep for any of the three nights. We asked the boutique to switch it off completely, but they said that wasn't possible, so I wouldn't recommend that room. Otherwise, it's a lovely little boutique in a great spot, close to Fira center but tucked far enough away for privacy. The cave rooms are gorgeous, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom decent. Breakfast was sweet but pretty basic. The staff were kind and helpful with restaurant recommendations, and even came to collect us and our bags from the nearest road.

A lot of steps, but that's Santorini for you. Outside, there are plenty of friendly, healthy-looking cats along the walkway, which is nice if you like cats. The location is convenient, about a five-minute walk from the main square, but far enough from the crowds and noise to feel peaceful. There seem to be five villas in the complex. Our two-bedroom place had a jacuzzi off the main bedroom, two bathrooms, and a good-sized living room. The cave-style rooms are cool, and there's a rooftop pool with day beds that's great for lounging during the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made everything easy. Breakfast came in a little crate and was nice, with boiled eggs, bread, yogurt, juice, fruit, spreads, and sliders.

The triple room was fantastic, with two king beds, two bathrooms, a cozy living area, and a jacuzzi right in the room. Boutique 88 is on the main strip, so restaurants, shops, and attractions are all walkable, with taxis easy to find too. We did get a bit lost looking for the hotel, as we hadn't realized how much walking and how many steps there'd be. A kind local helped us find it. We arrived after 3 PM, when the receptionist wasn't there. We'd missed the instructions saying she was available from 9 AM to 3 PM, but I reached her easily on WhatsApp, and she came promptly to help us with our bags. The Santorini donkeys leave surprises on the ground, so watch your step. There are also lots of cats around if you like them. It was a wonderful stay, 10/10, and I'd choose this place again if I return to Santorini.

The pool has a wonderful view, and the management were very helpful. Our room was lovely, with an exceptionally spacious bathroom and a shower with great pressure and a good range of temperatures. Boutique88 was a great find in a perfect location. I recommend it.
