Erato City House

The WiFi was the one thing I wasn't happy with, it felt quite slow. Still, it gave us a chance to enjoy the holiday more :) We were lucky to get a room away from the road, with a lovely balcony and stunning view. The pool was nice, and the room was super comfortable, with a kitchenette that had everything we needed. Such a wholesome hotel, with really sweet staff who make you feel at home.

I visited in Sept 2023 and only just got around to writing this. The pool looked even less appealing in person than in the photos, though it was mostly clean. The room itself was nice enough, but it smelled a bit of bleach on most days. I felt misled by the “sea view” room listing. The room actually faces the far side of the island, away from the caldera. They also describe it as close to town, but the steep hill makes the walk much longer and was a real pain at the end of a two week island trip. The biggest disappointment was that they wouldn't let us leave our bags. We had to pay 20+ euros on our last day just to have a couple of free hours before going to the airport.

The place is in a lovely spot away from crowded areas, and the room was very good for the price. Staff were lovely, and the cleaning was great. There are only a few parking spaces if you rent a car, though. Great experience, nothing else to add except my recommendation.

It’s around a 15-20 minute walk to Fira bus station, and the location is quite handy. The hotel and rooms were clean and proper, and reception was nice and helpful. The pool didn't seem to get cleaned very often. Also, being between two main roads made it quite noisy, even with the windows shut. You'd be lucky to get a room facing the sea. Otherwise it's cars going by endlessly, or people peeking through your windows.
