Liana at reception was lovely and the one bright spot for us. I don’t know whether she’s the owner or a staff member, but she was wonderful. The room, though, was a letdown for the price: a tiny TV wedged in a corner, nowhere to sit in the main area, and just two shower gels in the bathroom. The upstairs bed smelled unpleasant, and there weren’t any bedside lamps. It felt like somewhere to sleep and little else, apart from the beautiful view. Breakfast came with the stay, but the quality was poor. Fira is also quite a distance away, so staying here makes more sense if you’re renting a car. The rooms need a lot of work for what they charge. Honestly, I’d have had a better time camping in a tent.

The rooms are spacious and the view is lovely, but those were the only good parts of our stay. My partner had just had heart surgery, and when I asked reception for help with our heavy suitcase, I was told nobody could help until 6 PM, six hours later. The receptionist saw our situation and still wouldn’t step out to lend a hand, even briefly. We’d also asked for caffeine-free options because of the heart condition, but were given regular coffee. When we reminded her, she said, “We don’t have decaf, it’s just weak coffee.” The food was awful too: barely toasted bread, a cheap packaged bun, a sausage roll from a packet, and some fruit. We couldn’t eat any of it. The room smelled strongly of dirty mop water, the table was stained, and the cleaner left dirty cups behind. Even the air conditioner smelled moldy, so we had to call reception to have the room cleaned properly. Reception was often shut whenever we went looking for someone later on. There’d just be a handwritten note saying “back in 15 minutes” and a WhatsApp number. It felt like a ghost hotel, neglected and completely unprofessional. The view and location may be nice, but the lack of basic service, hospitality, and cleanliness was shocking. It wasn’t worth the money or frustration, and we’ll never come back.

September 2025. That AMAZING view is the main thing here. It’s 35m from the city center. Lena was lovely and very nice to talk to on WhatsApp, but the reception only opens for check-in and check-out, so there’s nobody around to ask about the island. The room is simple but nice. Breakfast is basic too, just toast, egg, vegetables, coffee and juice, enough for a little start to the day.

We felt like we’d ended up at the reject hotel. It costs less than the other places with this view, but still feels expensive for what you get. We wouldn’t have stayed if we’d known what it would be like. There’s no service after 8:00pm when the family running the Villa hotel leave the office to help the old woman who manages or owns it. The pool has no bar or atmosphere, and we never saw anyone clean it, so after day two we didn’t want to use it. You have to bring your own towels, which means you may not have a clean one left for your morning shower. The view is lovely, and apparently five other hotels offer the same one, though they’re pricier if you want better service. Our room was never properly cleaned, the beds were uncomfortable, the wifi was unreliable, the coffee pot was dirty, and the sheets weren’t changed. We watched workers clean the other pools before sunrise, but the one cleaning woman here would arrive at 8:00 am, run into the little pool house with her bag, quickly clean the chair pads, then move on to the rooms. The old woman was very rude. She seemed to pretend she didn’t understand because she didn’t care, and said we were too demanding. Breakfast isn’t included. We wouldn’t recommend this place.

The owners were nice, which is why I’m giving it a 4, but I’d check the nearby hotels for a better deal. We paid roughly $2000cad for six nights. The sunset view is gorgeous, but I don’t think it justified the cost. The room was pretty plain for the price, and the shower pipe was coming apart. There’s a pool, but none of the extras like massages, infinity pools, or hot tubs that the adjacent hotels had. I guess you’re mainly paying for the view.
