Caldera Senses

The view is the one good thing here. The place is hard to contact, and anyone with luggage will struggle. If your knees are bad, it’ll be rough.

The room had no hand soap, the WiFi didn’t work properly, and the air conditioning wasn’t enough. The hotel listing also got several details wrong: it called the patio “private,” but it was shared with the other rooms, and said the bed was on the first level when it was actually upstairs. My pregnant wife had to climb up and down a ladder many times. The listing promised bottled water and a fruit basket on arrival, but we got neither. We had told the hotel when we’d arrive, yet nobody was there when we reached Caldera Senses late at night. We waited outside with all our luggage for about 30 minutes. The hotel was hard to find and get into, with lots of stairs. They said they’d make it up to us for not being able to get into our room, but the next morning staff woke us by pounding on the door and said they’d put us in the wrong room. We had to repack everything and move. When we contacted the hotel about these problems, they ignored us completely. This was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve had, and we don’t want other people misled by the good reviews. More like Caldera SenseLESS!

We left right away. The room description was completely inaccurate, and the cramped, low-quality room we got had a loft bed reached by steep, unsafe stairs. The air conditioning was downstairs, so the loft was hot and suffocating, and having the washroom downstairs was very inconvenient. The manager showed no hospitality, told us to find another hotel, and later asked us to pay extra for a different room. Worst hotel experience.

The room was great, with high ceilings, and they cleaned it daily. Lovely view too, and restaurants and drinks were easy to get to.
