Callia Caves - Adults Only

Matthia was lovely and attentive, checking each day whether we needed anything and staying available when we did. Her restaurant and sightseeing suggestions were all fantastic. The apartment comfortably suited four of us, with a patio table and chairs for eating outside. Inside, it was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Both bedrooms were spacious and well equipped, with good linens and a full set of toiletries. One had a large hot tub, and the other opened onto a balcony with a beautiful sea view. It exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend staying here.

The suite sits right in the middle of Fira, near restaurants and the bus stop for routes across the island, including to the airport. We stayed in the Callia cave suite, which had an indoor pool and jacuzzi, and everything felt just right. The views were wonderful, especially the sunset from the top deck. Margarita shared helpful insights about Santorini, and Christos went out of his way to make our anniversary stay special. The staff were amazing, and I can't recommend the property enough.

Breakfast arrived each morning in a basket, which was a nice touch, though the food itself wasn't anything special. The view is pleasant, but the restaurant right in front of the terrace takes away a lot of privacy, and it doesn't appear in the photos. The place has been renovated, but the finishing is poor and the shower is already coming apart. It doesn't look much like the pictures, and I don't think it's worth the price.

Trying to book was incredibly frustrating. I believe the hotel didn't want to honor the Booking.com reservation at the price I'd secured, so it declined all three of my credit cards, even though each one works perfectly. That felt very sleazy and was deeply disappointing. I'm reporting it to Booking.com too. If a room is listed, they should honor the booking.
