In short, filthy, unprofessional, and overpriced. The room itself was stylish and nice, but the whirl-pool area was filthy, with mould on the bedding, sitting furniture, and mattresses. The whirl-pool is exposed to dust and the elements, but the whole area needs deep cleaning. The furniture can’t be salvaged at this point. The water was freezing, only 21-22 degrees at most when we checked it with a thermometer borrowed from friends. If you’re expecting pleasantly warm or hot water, this isn’t the place. We booked this suite for the whirl-pool and ended up not using it because of its condition. Otherwise, there’s no way to explain the high price when many nearby hotels and Airbnbs cost much less and have a similar or better location. We told Lila about the water temperature and the filthy pool area. She never apologized or showed any understanding. When we sent photos of the BLACK MOULD, she said there was nothing to do and came across as very unprofessional and apathetic.

The host got back to us quickly, and the outdoor area was quiet with a table. I liked the view from the lukewarm tub on the roof, and although it was a shared building, I only saw one other person once. The place is tucked away and hard to find without Google Maps, but shops are close enough to walk to. We barely spent time inside, so it worked for us, though the setup is very basic: one double bed, a twin mattress in the loft, and a couch someone could sleep on. Fine if you don't need much in the way of amenities.

From here, it's easy to get around Santorini on foot, and the short distances make Fira a handy base. The place itself was clean and felt luxurious, with a lovely sea view. The hosts were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend it.

The blue suite felt luxurious while still keeping a traditional island character. We were also close to the center of Fira, with everything we needed nearby. The hosts were great, and I'd happily recommend the place.

The rooftop jacuzzi wasn't working, but we ended up swapping it for a late-night bath in a Roman style. The Blue Mansion is a dream, highly recommend it.
