The uphill walk to Fira is worth keeping in mind. Villa Anto is about 500 meters from the center, and the return is downhill, so that makes the effort easier to accept. The area feels quiet and more secluded than the busy center, while shops and services are still within walking distance. Our first impression was excellent, thanks to Vlassia's warm and kind welcome, a lovely example of Greek hospitality. The place was clean and well maintained, with a beautiful view over the island's eastern bay, especially for sunrise. The pool was empty at the beginning of the season, but about the same size as others on the island and seemed ideal for relaxing quietly. Our room was comfortable, with a good bed, working bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a fridge. Daily cleaning was punctual and much appreciated. Each morning there was a simple but nice guesthouse-style breakfast buffet. I'd recommend Villa Anto to anyone wanting a peaceful, authentic stay near Fira and away from the crowds, as long as they don't mind a short uphill walk.

We had no issues during our stay, and the clean rooms were comfortable and enough for what we needed. Villa Anto is a handy 10-15 minute walk from Fira, and felt safe even at night. Hospitality was adequate, though staff availability could be better. We often had to ring the bell at the counter to get help.

We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the hotel, and the owner was nice. The rooms were a little unclean, but the service was so good. They put out coffee, bread, croissants, and cakes for us, though breakfast or food wasn't included.

We loved this hotel. It's inexpensive, and the family who run it are very friendly. The room was comfortable, clean, and romantic, just right for a couple. You can use the pool, have breakfast, and relax all day. They clean the room and change the towels and bed linen daily. Phira centre is a five minute walk.

It's a 10-15 minute walk to central Fira, which suited me since it meant there was no noise at night. Everything else was perfect too, with a nice room, good WiFi, and good staff. I highly recommend the catamaran excursion the staff suggested.
