El Greco Palace Villas

The location worked well for getting around, with a lovely view from the front of the hotel and shops, supermarkets, restaurants, amenities, and the bus stop all within an easy walk. Day trips seemed to offer hotel pickup and drop-off, which was very helpful. It's not close to beaches, though, so if that's your priority, I'd stay on the other side of the island. There are lots of pools, and our room was right next to one. The bedroom had plenty of space and a large bathroom, plus a big fridge and a free bottle of water on arrival. The spa offered lots of treatments and was good, but its staff weren't the politest. Most other staff were nice, though my interactions with reception were abrupt and rude. The restaurant food was basic. The cleaners did an okay job, but mostly moved things around for no reason, which didn't work well for someone with OCD like me. They also kept pushing the beds together, even though two friends sharing the room clearly didn't want to share a bed, so I had to separate them again every day. I did appreciate how the hotel staff seemed to treat and care for Greece's many stray cats.

We just got back after a lovely stay. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, our room was nice, and breakfast had a great selection. They changed the sheets and towels every day. The location was perfect, and we'd definitely come back. Santorini is beautiful 😊

We caught the bus from Fira to Oia, about a 30-minute ride. You HAVE to do Oir. The views are exceptional, a once-in-a-lifetime sight. We were there October 1-5 and could walk in to restaurants, though I'd probably book during peak tourist season. There are brilliant choices overlooking the Caldera, and Fira is only about a 7-8 minute walk away. Across the road from El Greco, the Caldera lookout is breathtaking at sunset. The complex itself is outstanding, with several beautifully kept pools and grounds. Breakfast is part of the room rate. It wasn't a five-star buffet, but was fine, especially eating outside with a view over the main pool. There's also an all-day restaurant and poolside bar, perfect for cocktails after dinner. Our room was well appointed, with a really comfortable king bed and a small patio with a table and chairs that extended the space nicely. We came to Santorini for our niece's wedding with 10 other family members, and El Greco was our hotel choice. Great decision. Totally recommend ElGreco. Tip: ask for a room around either of the two main pools, and make sure it's not near the main road.

The staff were professional, extremely kind, and helpful, and made us feel welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. We had a wonderful stay at El Greco Resort and would highly recommend it. We'd definitely come back.
