Opera Mansion

We spent a lot of time researching where to stay in Fira for my wife’s dream trip to Santorini, and I’ve never been so glad about a choice. Stepping into Opera Mansion feels like entering a fairytale. The caldera stretches out right beyond the front door, and the views from there and the upper deck are picture perfect. People often stop outside to take photos, and they seem just as awed by the mansion as by the cliffside view. Valentini and Anna were so kind and helpful. Anna prepared breakfast each morning in the outdoor cooking area, then set it out at whatever time we chose. We had fresh pastries, crepes, and more, and ate on our top deck with spectacular sea and volcano views. You can also have breakfast set up in the private candlelit wine cellar. It was a phenomenal start to every day. We’d walk along the panoramic Aegean and volcano views in the morning, then return to enjoy the place. For a midday cool down there’s an outdoor hot tub, plus an outdoor pool when it’s warm enough. Inside, our large room had its own full-size pool and a big steam room with rain-head showers. It gets very steamy, and the indoor pool feels great afterward. There are a couple of lounge chairs on the middle deck, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to great food and bars. Valentini can arrange things like boating or a special restaurant booking. It was clear that making our stay wonderful was her priority. We’ll miss them and Opera Mansion. 1000% recommended, there’s no better place to stay.

Valentini helped us with everything, even treating us like family when we had a small motorcycle accident. The apartment was amazing, with three pools just for us, and breakfast was great with lovely views. It’s easy to get around Fira, and parking is easy about 100 meters away. We’ll be back!

We went during the first week of January, in the off-season, so the price was lower than in summer. The facility is beautiful, set above the Caldera with a great ocean view. It has indoor and outdoor pools, a bath and sauna, plus a wine cellar downstairs. We had a great stay. The manager was friendly and easy to reach, and the included breakfast was really, really good. In winter, finding other meals can be difficult because many places nearby are closed, just as a heads-up. The manager also helped us book island activities, including sightseeing, a bus tour, and a boat ride.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and had the best stay ever. The villa’s design is fabulous, the service was unbelievable, and it’s very close to the city center. I highly recommend it for a honeymoon.
