Vina's Place

George took great care of us, and all the owners and staff were lovely and kind. The place is close to Fira's main town, with a lovely view down toward the ocean and great sunrises. Rooms are simple but put together nicely and kept very clean, and the price felt fair. The Wi-Fi was pretty slow, so keep that in mind if you're working, though it was fine for casual use. 5G reception was good if you have enough data. Definitely recommend!

George was kind and helpful, and we had a wonderful stay at Vina's place from 5-9 May 2025. Our family of six booked two rooms. The hotel was clean, the pool area was lovely, and we had a small balcony overlooking it. The location sits between two main roads, within walking distance of the main tourist areas. Fira is the hub for island buses, which made it a handy base. The main bus stop was about a 15-minute walk, the mini grocery store 10 minutes, and the main supermarket about 20. Restaurants, souvenir shops, and bars were all walkable too. If you're bringing small children, keep the hills and stairs in mind if you have a pram. One room for two had a kitchenette, while the room for four only had a bar fridge. A kitchenette in that room would have suited the number of guests better. The water often turned cold late at night and early in the morning, so we had to shower around midday or late afternoon.

We rented the family cave with an attic for four. It's a simple hotel with a shared pool, and the cleaning lady did a great job when we asked for a quick clean. The kitchen was very basic and poorly equipped, with too few utensils, mugs, and plates for four people. Preparing meals for the family would be a challenge. There were ants on the counters, and the place could use better upkeep. It feels worn and outdated.

The center is an easy walk away, and the place itself feels clean, well equipped, and not old. There’s air conditioning, Wi-Fi, an electric kettle, a small fridge, a hair dryer, and a shared pool downstairs. Getting there is a little tricky because the walkways are narrow. That's normal in Santorini, though. I think there's only one route from the east without steps where you can come by scooter. The local cats seem to have a fight club on the nearby square, and it can get loud 😃.
