Palmyra Beach Hotel

The location is excellent, and Loukas made check-in easy with a very friendly, professional welcome. Julie at reception, though, seemed irritated by everyone and everything. She did apologize, but only after my alarmed reaction to how she was behaving. The windows do a good job blocking road noise. Sounds inside the hotel are another matter: the housekeepers are noisy, and you can hear other guests, so a peaceful night isn't guaranteed. The stay was just OK.

We liked the location and the room, and check-in went well, but service later let us down. We waited a long time at the bar. On checkout morning, a staff member stopped us to check whether we were staying there. Their tone only turned friendly once we confirmed we were guests. That conditional welcome felt strange and left a bad impression.

The room was roomy and clean, with a balcony, and the hotel itself was clean and well kept. It has elevators and is accessible. Staff were very friendly, and the pool deck music was great. The showers and washrooms were clean too. I only wish the pool opened earlier for morning swims. This is a good value for the area. Beaches, restaurants, and nightlife are all walkable, and the breakfast buffet was worth paying for, with fresh food and nice options. Traffic noise depends on which side your room faces, but with the balcony and windows closed, you can't hear it.

Waves is beautifully decorated, and the food was delicious and served generously. The staff there were polite and professional. My room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything I needed. At check-in, a friendly, professional receptionist gave me a warm welcome and explained plenty about the property and the area. The hotel was beautiful and clean. My favorite place in Athens.
