Pension Atlas

The owners were warm and chatty, and clearly enjoy getting to know their guests. They were especially sweet with our baby, which meant a lot to us. When we arrived, they made us feel at home and took time to point out important places around Santorini and explain how to get around. Their local tips made exploring much easier. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and cleaned daily. We felt it was good value for money. The location was convenient for bus routes, and there’s a bakery and supermarket a short walk away. Atlas Pension made a great base, whether you want to relax or explore. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, clean, well-located place.

The room was nice and clean, with a balcony and a fridge. There was a really bad smell from the bathroom, though. I don’t think it was the pension’s fault, as I feel it’s an issue with the Greek islands as a whole. The owner was helpful from the day we arrived, showing us important and interesting places on the map and offering activities. The small pension has a great pool and is right on the main road, so it’s easy to spot. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Fira. We felt safe and would definitely come again.

The owner was friendly and made an effort to chat, but there were quite a few things to weigh up for a hotel that wasn't especially cheap. The pool floor looked dirty, and my daughter kept pointing it out after swimming. She was also frightened by the dog on the property, which barked at people coming in until the owner told it to stop, though it seemed harmless. We were asked to leave our keys when going out. On our first day, after arriving around midday in very hot weather, we left the air conditioning on while we went to eat because my wife's makeup was nearly melting. When we came back, there was a note saying it should be off when nobody was in the room. It felt like the room was checked whenever we went out. We were also told the lady knew when we left and returned, and there appeared to be cameras in the shared areas. There was a lot of traffic noise even around midnight, since the property is beside a busy road. The bathrooms were tiny, and the shower curtains didn't keep the water in, so water splashed all over the place. Despite the room being checked while we were out, fresh towels and other room service were only provided every other day.

Trudi was wonderful, taking time to explain the island and share recommendations. The pool was a lovely bonus, and the location just outside Fira worked well for us. A peaceful, relaxing place to stay, and one I’d happily recommend.
