Residenza Maria Lindos Villa

Maria left an exceptionally generous welcome basket with water, wine, beer, fruit, a big bowl of cherries, homemade jam and honey, plus breakfast things, snacks, toast, crackers, sandwich bread and cold cuts. We hardly needed to buy anything for the first few days. The house is right in the heart of town, with everything easy to reach, which we really enjoyed. Lindos has lively nightlife, though, and the nearby Apollo bar and other bars play music until very late. The house is well soundproofed, so for us it wasn’t too disturbing, but light sleepers should take that into account. The place is large, in the local style, well maintained and tastefully furnished. It has everything we needed, including towels and beach towels, plenty of toiletries, and a fully stocked kitchen. The two bedrooms are on mirrored mezzanines within one very large space, with Venetian blinds for privacy. I would have preferred something more in keeping with the house, like bamboo or similar. The air conditioning worked overall, but wasn’t ideal in the sleeping area while we slept because it’s positioned high up, where hot air rises, and the units are above the beds, making them difficult to use at night. We also appreciated having two bathrooms, though only one has a shower, and the washing machine was very useful during our two-week stay. Rating: 10 out of 10!!
