Alexandros by the Beach - Serifos

I spent the first week of July at Alexandros by the Beach in a single room. It’s rustic, but the location is fantastic: walk out of the little cottage through the taverna and you’re on the beach. The Greek food was delicious, and Aldo the waiter is a legend. The two hosts were lovely, generous and friendly, and happy to help with anything. They arranged our ferry transfers on time and at no extra cost. Town is only a ten-minute walk away. I loved relaxing on the sunbeds and taking it easy, and would definitely like to come back.

The hosts, Kyriakos and Konstantinos, made the stay feel personal and welcoming. They were genuinely kind and checked whether I needed anything, though I politely declined. After a power cut on my second night left the air conditioning unable to turn back on, they responded right away and generously moved me to a spacious two-bedroom apartment with two fully equipped bathrooms. That really made an impression. I was travelling solo and stayed three nights at Alexandros by the Beach. I’d booked the basic economy single room, which had everything I needed: a comfortable double bed, clothes cabinet, kettle, cutlery, cups and plates. The bathroom was clean and functional, nothing fancy but fine for a short visit. It’s a convenient spot, about a 5-7 minute walk from Serifos Port, though the car route makes it around a ten-minute taxi ride. There’s a beachfront restaurant on the property with reasonably priced meals and sunbeds for rent at a fair rate. I’d gladly return. Even without the surprise upgrade, the hosts’ warmth and care would have made the stay memorable.

We came as a family of five for four days and really wished we could stay longer. This family-run Greek beach hotel felt one of a kind, and the hospitality was genuine and out of this world. The taverna food tasted lovingly home-cooked, and the beautiful, quiet beach was just a few steps from our room. They picked us up from the ferry and drove us back at no charge. It felt like Greece in the old days, in the best way. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a great three-night stay and would definitely book again. Our room was clean and looked after daily, with a large balcony and drying rack, though the bathroom was compact. The staff were amazing, especially Aldo, the Manager/front of house. He made us feel welcome and valued, anticipated what we might need, arranged things for us, and made sure we were cared for. The beach setting and views are fabulous, though walking from the docks with suitcases can be a little tricky. The varied menu had fresh, delicious food and tasty treats.
