The host kindly let us check in early. The hotel's location is perfect, though the rooms are very old and the bathroom looks nothing like the photos.

We really enjoyed our stay. The pension is about halfway up the mountain, which makes it very quiet, and stairs lead down to the town. The staff were friendly and helped us when we couldn’t find the exact entrance. The town is easy to reach, and the room was comfortable, with air conditioning for the cool or hot weather outside. They served a homemade breakfast on the outer terrace, with a view over the whole town.

We were in building D during the first half of June, and were very satisfied with our stay. I’d read the reviews and wondered if we’d been given the same accommodation people described. The owner kindly let us stay with our poodle, even though we arrived without a plan in advance. The room was cleaned daily. It was a bit small, but the location and balcony view, along with their accepting our poodle, make it a 10 for us.

The customer service was absolutely terrible. I reserved through Booking.com more than a month ahead. About a week before my stay, they had trouble taking payment from my credit card, so Booking.com asked me to update my details. I also emailed the property to explain. They ignored my message and cancelled the booking without even trying the new card details. I called six times during this period; they answered only twice, and only once was someone actually in the office who could help. After the cancellation, I asked by email if they could hold the room, try my card again, or arrange something else. They told me to book again through the website, but the prices had gone up. When I questioned that, they basically said it was my problem. I’ve booked somewhere else. I can’t comment on the rooms or location. I suggest checking the other reviews, though. The photos seem extremely misleading, and it sounds like most rooms are much less nice. If that’s true, it raises questions about why my card was rejected, but that’s only speculation and should be taken with a large grain of salt. Perhaps they were trying to avoid reverse payments.
