Oia Angle Cavehouse

We loved the views and how easy it was to watch sunset right outside the front door, without joining the crowds. The place sits just off the path, so people aren’t walking past all day. The jetted hot tub was a hit with our kid, and the host arranged airport pickup and someone to carry our bags up and down the stairs. Breakfast was delivered each morning for us to eat on the balcony. We’d stay here again.

We were without electricity in the flat for several days, which made staying there a nightmare. The owner did nothing to resolve the outage and refused to refund us or offer any compensation. We’ll pursue the case and escalate it to get our money back. Be very careful about renting these apartments.

The view was beautiful, but that’s about all you get, and most properties in Oia offer a view like it. We booked three nights and ended up spending two days and nights without electricity. There was no light, so we used our phones as flashlights, and we couldn’t charge them. No WiFi, fridge, air conditioning, jacuzzi, or coffee machine either. We paid a lot to experience Santorini from a great location and instead got a cave from the 1800s without power. We know unexpected things happen and weren’t upset at first, since the owner tried to fix it. But we soon got the impression this wasn’t the first time. We asked for a partial refund because we clearly hadn’t received what we paid for, and the owner wouldn’t give back a penny. That’s ridiculous, unacceptable, and very poor customer care. Avoid this place.

The whole stay was great, with a professional staff and support team. We’d happily do it all again. Thanks, Giota, George & Visilles, for making the trip so easy and memorable.
