The room was centrally located in the village and easy to find. It had two double beds and was spacious enough for two, but only just. The bathroom was small, had no exhaust fan, and the shower didn’t drain properly. The host said he’d replace the fan, but it hadn’t happened by the time we left. Breakfast was adequate, though it seemed less carefully done than at the other guest houses we’d visited. The host was very helpful with local knowledge and quite chatty. It was a simple, comfortable enough guest house, but didn’t exceed my expectations.

Even though we arrived unexpectedly, the owners welcomed us and took care of us right away. The restaurant was closed, but they kindly offered us a meal. Breakfast was delicious, and they even packed us a snack for our hike. We had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend it.

The best part is how exceptionally clean it is, along with having a very helpful host who takes care of everything. It’s a traditional old mansion converted into a guesthouse, with a warm atmosphere. It isn’t especially luxurious.

We went rafting and ate at the family restaurant, and you can arrange other activities too. The owners are super friendly, since it’s a family business, and the breakfast was amazing, with handmade jam sweets, fresh eggs, and whatever else you need if you ask. It’s a cozy, quiet, clean place with a perfect view. It’s August 17 now, and the sun burns during the day, but it gets chilly at night. Totally recommend it.

My friend and I were left without anywhere to stay in Papingo when the owner of the hotel we’d booked had to leave because of an emergency. Luckily, the owner of Xenonas Astraka happened to pass by and offered us a room. His son Stergios showed us around, then came to pick us up after our trek so we could join him for a rafting adventure. We were really fortunate to stay there. An excellent place in Papingo.
