Lunar Santorini Hotel

The reception staff were nice, and they gave us candy and free orange juice when we arrived. The A/C worked, and the beach is within walking distance. But the water was the big problem: both the tap water and shower water tasted salty. Our room had two beds and a separate master bedroom. It was an alright stay, though compared with other hotels, there wasn’t much to recommend. About 2.5 stars for me.

We felt safe the whole time and would definitely recommend Lunar to friends visiting Santorini. The beach, bakeries, shops, and restaurants are only a few minutes away. We were welcomed warmly, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. I don’t think I’ve slept that well on holiday before! Thank you for the stay!

The staff were so friendly and service minded, and made our stay lovely. Our room was clean and nice, with a cute little terrace where my friend and I had coffee in the mornings and evenings. It even had Netflix on the TV. The hotel is in a nice part of Perissa, close to restaurants and the beach, and the nearby bus stop made it easy to get to Fira bus station. Very nice hotel :)

Vassilis and his son made the family-run hotel feel special. Vassilis is a sweet, friendly older man, and even with a language barrier he’d stop and chat whenever we crossed paths. He gave us a small bottle of his homemade wine, which was amazing. His son was just as helpful and friendly. You can tell how much love they put into the place. Please never change. The best thing is the location: just steps from one of the island’s biggest and best beaches, with bus stops, restaurants, bars, and a car park close by. Santorini is very expensive, though Perissa costs less, and this was an excellent option for our three nights. The room is small and doesn’t look new, with barely space for a bed and two nightstands. Still, the bed was really comfortable, and there was a tiny closet with a fridge, coffee, a big bottle of water, tea, sugar, and a kettle. A small balcony, shared with anyone at the hotel who wants to use it, was handy for morning coffee. Vassilis encouraged everyone to enjoy it. The bathroom was small but sufficient. The shower curtain was a bit of a battle, and the water drained slowly, so the floor could flood if you weren’t careful. That was the only small downside to an otherwise perfect stay. We’ll certainly stay there again when we return to the island, and hope to see Vassilis and his family. They offer an airport transfer for 35€, and I’d say it’s worth taking since getting to Perissa Beach can take a while, even if it looks close. They also work with car rental companies that deliver the car to the hotel. In our case, we were able to return the car at the airport, saving us a trip at the end. They were super friendly.
