Dyo Suites

Right by the shore, the hotel has its own beach, and our large decorated room was well kept. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The seal kept outside noise from coming in well. Our only issue was the lack of an elevator. With a little baby, we had to carry the stroller up and down each time.

The beach quickly became our favorite in Crete. The water was the clearest and prettiest we saw, even after visiting other beaches, and the beach itself was spotless. Sunbeds were included, and the staff there were genuinely nice and attentive. They looked after us well when we treated them with respect, and service was quick. Our suite had loads of space, so the whole family could feel comfortable. The location was very convenient, just across the road from the beach. Breakfast was excellent each morning, with a good buffet as well as included à la carte choices. The food was consistently good, with something for everyone. Dinner was another highlight, with enough variety each evening that we never felt we were having the same thing twice. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Dimitri in the restaurant deserves a special mention for taking such good care of us throughout the stay. It was our first visit, but we had such a great time that we can see this becoming a regular yearly holiday for us. Highly recommended.

The beach is just across the road, and you can order drinks or food there. The clean, well-kept deckchairs and big soft beanbag sofa were both nice options. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and the service was friendly.

The staff were wonderful, warm, easygoing, generous, and always helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with big portions. We were happy we booked Dyo Suites for our week in Rethymno and have no regrets, even though the price felt high. We booked almost a year ahead and had a Genius discount on Booking.com, but it still wasn’t affordable. The hotel is a lovely little boutique place in the heart of Rethymno Port Old Town. The public areas and rooms could have been cleaner. In a small hotel with only a few rooms, that detail matters a lot. The beach is free for hotel guests, but it’s also open to the public, so it didn’t feel very private or cozy. We went during the busiest week in August, which obviously makes a difference, but it felt crowded for the private beach of such a small boutique hotel. The beach staff were lovely and always helped us with a smile and great service. The beach itself isn’t the most beautiful, and the water isn’t crystal clear or usually calm. Of course, that isn’t the hotel’s fault.
