STONE VILLAGE

One thing to keep in mind: if you don’t like animals, this may not be the place for you. We saw some guests getting annoyed by the animals and cats walking around, and their behavior toward them was unacceptable. You’re a guest in their space, so you don’t get to dictate how it should look. I stayed at Stone Village Hotel in Bali and had one of my nicest travel experiences. The team were kind, welcoming, always smiling, and ready to help. They made us feel at home. The stone houses and gardens are beautiful and relaxing, in a peaceful natural setting close to the beach and the center of Bali. It’s easy to get around on foot or by the little train. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with lots of choice and fresh, homemade-tasting food. Even though we arrived late, they made sure we had something to eat, which we really appreciated. It has a warm feel beyond that of a regular hotel.

The meals had plenty of variety, including beef, salads, fruit, and vegetables. I especially liked the spaghetti with ketchup, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and omelette. The juices were delicious, but only served in the morning, and ice cream was available only in the evening. There were two pools, one for us and another shared one. We stayed on Crete from 17.07.2025 to 24.07.2025. The sea, beaches, mountains, and hotels were impressive, and the water had three colors: dark blue, turquoise, and blue. The beach was small because there were too many sun loungers. Our room at Stone Village was large, with a kitchen and two rooms. We moved two beds from the kitchen into the room so we could all sleep together, and enjoyed playing cards there. Service was slow, and some of the workers were unfriendly. The sea is far from the hotel, about a 30-minute walk or €5 by bus. Thank you!

A spacious room that stayed cool and was cleaned daily, kind staff, and home-cooked-style food made our stay lovely. The village feels authentic, set among the hills, and there are lots of animals on the farm. Recommended if you prefer to avoid mass tourism.

The food was amazing, and both breakfast and dinner buffets were included. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the pools were great, and the atmosphere felt peaceful and authentic. Our apartment was large. One issue was that nothing on the buffet was labeled, so choosing food was a guessing game. We have allergies and were being very careful, but still ended up needing Benadryl. The refrigerator was plugged into an outlet that shut off when the key card was removed, so we lost groceries. It was fine since dinner was included. The tea kettle didn’t work.
