The location is a big part of the appeal, and the beds are really comfortable. It’s clean, attractive and central, with lovely staff. The place is basic, but comfortable and charming, and I’d happily stay for longer. It isn’t the Ritz, so anyone looking for luxury should look elsewhere. For a traveller, especially if you’re moving on from here, it covers all the important things. I heard someone mention a smell, but everything seemed fresh to me. Given that it’s in an ancient citadel, I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened now and then, though I didn’t experience it.

Katarina and Cristos were there for me after I slipped on wet cobblestones and fractured my tibia. They arranged an ambulance to Rhodes Hospital, and made a difficult moment much easier. Everyone on staff was warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Their tips for food, drinks, venues, day trips and shopping were spot on. Our room was charming, the shower was hot with a lovely strong spray, and the place was spotless. It’s an affordable hotel in a perfect spot, and they helped make the whole trip memorable, easy and fun. We’ll be back in Rhodes and Spot Hotel will be top of our list. A friendly welcome, and everything was well organised. It’s around a 10 minute walk from the port, with shops and restaurants nearby, but it stays quiet at night so you can sleep well. The shower was wonderful, and it’s really good value.

We only stayed one night, arriving in the evening after touring the island and heading off the next afternoon for the ferry to Symi. For a few hours it was fine. At this price, you get what you pay for, so don’t expect much comfort. I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay.

The room is only a 3/5 for me, and the WC is even tinier, but the price makes it completely worthwhile. It’s right in the town centre and the staff are friendly and helpful. For anyone watching their budget, I really think this is the best value-for-money hotel in Rhodes. That’s why my overall rating is 5/5, even though it isn’t the best hotel. Thanks for the great hospitality!
