Stegna Star

We needed an inexpensive place to stop before heading to a villa, and these basic rooms worked fine. They aren’t luxurious, but the location right on the beach is amazing. The mother and daughter who run the place are about as lovely as people get. They also let us check out as late as we wanted without charging extra.

If you’re after nightlife, this probably isn’t the spot, but it’s lovely for families with children or anyone wanting some peace and quiet. The hotel is cleaned thoroughly every day, the Wi-Fi works perfectly, and the owners, Katherina and her daughter Kyroula, are very kind and helpful. They also run a café with excellent ice cream and delicious frappás. The beach is well maintained, with both sand and pebbles. Sunbeds are €10 for the full day and only for hotel guests. There are plenty of rocks in the water for diving or just relaxing, and Archangelos Caves is a 20-minute walk away. It’s a great place for diving. For the price, I have no complaints.

The balcony table was perfect for breakfast, and it was great having air-conditioning in the bedroom. The room had fresh towels and a basic kitchen for cooking, and we could also order restaurant food to the room. The restaurant dishes were delicious, especially the meat and my stuffed vegetables. I also enjoyed the light draft beer, white wine, and really good black coffee. Service was lovely. Things may take longer than in London, but you’re on holiday, so it’s worth waiting and enjoying the food. The people running the place were wonderful, and we had a great experience. Thank you!

We spent 11 days here as a family, right by the sea. Catherina was a lovely, very helpful host, and the staff refreshed our rooms every day. We had a great holiday this year. Thanks again, and I’d definitely recommend the place 👍
