Starlight Luxury Seaside Villa & Suites

We were so happy to stay here. It's a cosy home-hotel with original decor and very personal care. Marius and his mother were amazing and helped with everything we needed. The room was cleaned every day, and from bed we could see the sunrise. The quiet location has an incredible 180° sea view from the jacuzzi. By car or motorbike, you can get around the island easily. If you're after an oasis in Santorini, this is your place. Thanks so much to Marius and his mother. The baklava was very good!

The terrace views over the cliffs and ocean were exceptional, and the private jacuzzi tub made it easy to enjoy them. Marios showed us the room, explained the amenities, including the kitchen, Nespresso, and bathroom, and walked us through the terrace. The unit was cleaned discreetly each day, and Marios was there for any requests during our time on the island. He made us feel like close friends. Even for a short visit, I can't say enough good things. Thank you, Marios!

The villa itself is rather nice, and the location is fine, but the owner's behavior made the stay uncomfortable. He opened our window shutters at 10 AM each morning even though we'd closed them, including the bedroom ones while we were still in bed. People can see into the rooms through those windows. He felt intrusive and nosy, and made us feel as if he was doing us a favor by hosting us, even though we were paying for a vacation. The WiFi was slow and the jacuzzi wouldn't heat up. Before we arrived, we asked him to arrange an ATV rental. He promised a good deal, but when we got there, the only rental option he had was a friend’s company, one out of about forty on the island. They only had cars, so we had to take one because the villa is near nothing and you absolutely need a vehicle. On our last day, we paid directly for the extra days we had used the car. The owner then sent an upset WhatsApp message saying we'd cost him his commission and asked to speak with us when we got back. That's not our problem.

The beautiful house on a small hill above the sea could have made this special, but our experience was mostly ruined by Rena. She'd walk into the house while we were there without asking and shout over things we could barely understand because she doesn't speak English. Every morning, they walked past the door and windows, waiting for us to leave so they could check on us. We're a completely ordinary couple, no parties, getting drunk, or smoking. It felt like they acted as if we should be grateful just to be allowed to stay. One evening, after the beach, we got into the jacuzzi. We'd put on only a little sunscreen that morning, and after swimming all day there wasn't much left on our skin. Rena came in shouting that we had to shower first, in a very disrespectful way. It made my fiancée and me really uncomfortable. Marios was fine, a bit much sometimes, but always polite and available. This was a birthday present for my fiancée, and it's such a shame that all this ruined 90% of the experience. I don't like writing reviews like this, but think of anyone who saves up for a vacation and ends up having this kind of experience.
