Monastery Estate Guesthouse

The room was simple in style, but spacious and comfortable, and the small terrace with its pool was a quiet little retreat. We stayed two nights at the Monastery Estate in Sougia, a great base for exploring the area and hiking through Samaria Gorge. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Georgia helped with all our questions and went above and beyond when we realized we'd misplaced our car key. Thank you! The bathroom was the one downside: it was very basic and needs a makeover. The paint had started peeling, and the towel rack had broken off.

A quiet spot surrounded by mountains, and the staff were amazing. They helped with all our requests and pointed us toward some really good places. We spent a few nights at Monastery Estate Retreat hotel and have only good recommendations!

It was such a calm place to rest and enjoy the surroundings, including Sougia and Lissos. The hotel is lovely, and our room had a beautiful mountain view. The whole hotel team was excellent. I'd really like to thank them all for their kindness and professionalism.

There isn't a restaurant, and any food you order comes right to your room, so everyone can stay in their own private space. If you'd rather go out, the village taverna is about a 2 min walk up the hill, and I can recommend it too. We loved the beautiful view, the unmatched privacy, and the luxury rooms. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly. This hotel was amazing.
