Museo Maya Inn

The room was cozy, with a fireplace, relaxing dim light, very clean bedding, and a comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel is downtown, within walking distance of the parroquia, market, and little park. It has a shower and tub with hot water, and breakfast is included. I had the continental breakfast with fresh orange juice. The building and room were amazing. A few things to know: people can be shy, so you may need to ask if you want WiFi in your room, and it costs extra. The room instructions say to request fireplace help by 10 pm. Parking is free and feels safe, though getting in can be difficult. The check-in office opens later than you might expect, so check its hours if you plan to leave early. Some people complained about noise, but it is downtown, so what do you expect?

We had a large room with a fireplace in this beautiful building, and the rooms are nice too. Some parts could use updating, but the old rooms’ charm is what makes this place special. You can spot hummingbirds in the garden. Breakfast was ok.

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location, but I don’t recommend it. The room and comfort were awful. We booked an open double room and ended up with a tiny two-room triple, so be careful and specify what you want. It felt claustrophobic, was dark, and faced the road, with so much noise that we barely slept. The room was freezing, and they left us only enough wood for a couple of hours. After a few winks I woke up and put on several more blankets, which they did provide. We killed several moths, and there was no drinking water. Breakfast was sufficient.

I haven’t even checked out yet, but I had to say how wonderful the staff are. Everyone has been really friendly. My room is spacious and amazing. Whenever I’m back in chichi, this is where I’ll stay every time.
