I really enjoyed the ferry ride, so getting to and from the hostel that way felt worth it. Just remember you have to take the ferry, and if you miss the free one you may have to pay around 10Q. I’d recommend the hostel to anyone. For tours and travel, though, I’d use an agency next time since the same services cost 50Q more when booked at the hostel.

There’s lots of seating on the dock, and the view is beautiful. The dorm was one of the best I’ve stayed in, with really comfortable beds and a great amount of privacy. The whole place has a very relaxing feel.

The meals were good, though pretty overpriced. Coffee was the bigger letdown: it comes from an expensive automated machine and was only average, with no barista-made option. The hostel itself feels fancy and modern, with well-equipped rooms and plenty of storage space around the beds. It’s right on the lake, and free boats are available for check-in and arrival.

The sewage smell was the worst part by far. It hung around for all five days we were there, got into the room at times, and was unbearable. I spoke with someone who’d stayed a few weeks earlier and they said it was the same, so it seems like an ongoing problem. The rooms are nice, though I didn’t stay in the triple bunk room. The place feels more like a hotel with dorms than a hostel, and the restaurant out front often has graduation, work, and kids’ parties going on, which made me feel like I was intruding even as a guest. Restaurant prices are extortionate, and what you save on the hostel you’ll spend on daily boat trips back and forth. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
