Chi Bocol Community Hostel

We spent three nights here and loved having the river to swim in and time to unwind on site. Semuc Champey is nearby, with a short hike and then a quick tuk-tuk ride. The shared yoga spot is probably the prettiest I've ever seen, and there are hammocks too. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served family-style, with tasty, healthy food and generous portions. It's a jungle stay, so the dorms are simple, the showers aren't hot, and there's plenty of nature around, but we were comfortable throughout. The half-hour walk in is absolutely worth it for a peaceful escape.

Right beside the river, the setting is lovely and secluded. The staff were so welcoming, especially Eva and Carlos. I have nothing but good things to say about this hostel.

Dinner and breakfast were both tasty, filling, and good value. We visited in the drier season, so the walk in was manageable; after rain, I can imagine the trail getting tougher in wet season. The views from the property made the hike worthwhile. At night, take a flashlight down by the creek to spot all kinds of insects and other little creatures.

My mom, sister, and I walked about 40 minutes from Utopia hotel to get here. What a beautiful view. The ladies were doing yoga, and it looked like the perfect place for it. Even the workers were taking in the scenery. It felt like everyone was enjoying the day.
