I can see why this inn has so many good reviews. Gilbert was quick to reply when I contacted him through the booking site, arranged an airport taxi, and welcomed me even though I arrived late at night. The driver was waiting by the exit with a sign showing my name and the hotel name. I paid him $50 in US dollars. Gilbert also gave me a thorough explanation of the room. Breakfast is included. Gilbert went further and brought me a hot dog, sweetbread, and instant coffee from a nearby convenience store, and I was given bottled water at check-in. He also arranged a taxi for our late-night flight on checkout day, and he’s the person to ask if you run into a problem. The room had been a regular room before a toilet and shower were added, so there’s no ventilation fan. It was generally well kept, though I did spot some trash on the floor. The walls are thin, and you can hear both outside noise and the next room. The toilet tank gasket is worn, so there’s a constant trickling sound. I could put up with both. The Wi-Fi worked quite comfortably when I connected to 5.0. There aren’t any parks nearby, but several restaurants are around, so that wasn’t an issue for me. Guyana has few hotels, and with the limited number of reviews I saw, this was my first stay here.
