Kanuku Suites

The service was the worst part. Breakfast took 45 minutes, then I waited another half hour for the bill. At the bar you might get bottled water, or be told they're closing two hours early because they don't feel like serving you. The front desk and the rest of the hotel used different exchange rates, there were undisclosed credit card fees, and guests were treated with no respect. I won't stay here again or recommend it. The rooms and beds are old, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, and the shower has no hot water, though the AC helps offset that.

Grand coastal cancelled my reservation, and that turned out to be a lucky break. Kanuku was peaceful, clean, and relaxing, with fantastic staff. Brandon handled everything at the front desk, while Miss Ayester looked after meals and drinks and made sure we got what we wanted. Security greeted us whenever we returned from trips. Our room was cleaned daily, the bathroom was spotless, and there was always hot water. I won't stay anywhere else while Kanuku is around.

The room was affordable, and I was happy with what I got for the price. It was very clean and smelled fresh, up to international standards, and reminded me of a Paris hotel I stayed at three years ago. Booking by phone the day before was easy, and Mr. Gansham Dwarka handled it professionally. When I arrived, the cheerful but professional front desk attendant gave me a neat package of items for my stay. Kanuku Suites will be my home whenever I stay overnight in Georgetown.

The employees were polite, but not very efficient. I paid around 30 USD for a terrible meal at Restaurants Seafood at Kanuku. The shrimp fettuccine Alfredo had no shrimp and didn't resemble Alfredo. I ordered two portions and baked potatoes, but got only a small amount of mashed potatoes instead. The menu listed crab claws, while what arrived was some kind of minced crab. Not sure where the “sea” part went.
