There are bus stops nearby, local shops and restaurants beside the hotel, and a superb bakery across the road. The rooms are large for Hong Kong, and each floor has water filters for refilling your own bottles. The stay felt more like a hostel or PG than a hotel. Rooms weren’t cleaned daily, and the bathrooms are tiny. There’s no room service from the restaurant, and staff weren’t much help. Nobody was available to carry our luggage. Breakfast was the same throughout my stay: buns, brown and white bread, an apple, tea and coffee, orange juice, and milk. There’s a crematorium behind the hotel, and no recreation facilities such as a pool or kids’ play area.

The room had plenty of space, and the service was okay, but it wasn’t clean. There were stains on the comforter and towels, and I even found a nail on the bath towel when I entered the room. Absolutely gross. Bring your own slippers, shampoo, and body wash.

There’s no MTR station within walking distance, though a City Bus stop is right beside the hotel. It’s in a residential area with nothing to see or visit as a tourist. The room was extremely spacious for Hong Kong. Cleaning happened once every two days; during my six-night stay it was cleaned only three times. On the days without cleaning, we had to ask for toilet roll and mineral water ourselves.

I stayed for 12 nights and would happily stay here again, even though I had to travel from Hong Kong Island every day. My twin room was warm, comfortable, and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It also had a separate shower area from the toilet, unlike most hotels I’ve stayed in. Daily room service cleaned the room and took out the rubbish. Laundry was available for a fee if needed.
