The quiet neighborhood and low price were appealing, and the room itself was clean. But housekeeping was a letdown: during our stay they changed the towels and left everything else as it was, including beds that weren’t made. Tea is complimentary, but there’s no coffee and they don’t top up the tea. Bottled water costs HK$12, so bring your own. They supplied only a toothbrush and toothpaste, and didn’t even replace the wooden stirrer for a hot drink. When we asked the front desk for another, they said they had none. Are guests meant to use the same one for their whole stay? Also, this is a YWCA building, so at least one guest in a room must be female. There’s no nearby metro station, though buses stop on the corner, followed by a short uphill walk to the hotel.

We were happy to trade a little convenience for a comfortable stay. The room was 17m2, with a window, and bigger than the usual 10m2 rooms. It felt comfortable for two adults and one child, and the price was right. The area was quiet, and I didn’t hear any noise during our stay. There are plenty of buses to most tourist spots, and the steep hill is only a short walk. My 3yo daughter never complained over our 5night stay. Towels were changed and bins emptied every day.

The room was big and new, but after the way we were treated, that counted for very little. I dealt with three different front desk staff at different times. One woman seemed helpful; the other two men spoke to me in an annoyed, very poor manner. I tried to brush it off, but the experience was bad enough that I won’t return to this hotel, and I won’t be coming back to Hong Kong if they keep treating guests this way. There’s no free water in the room, so expect to carry a big bottle up the slope. After a day out walking 20,000 steps, you still have that uphill walk back. The hotel is 15 mins from MRT mongkok. If you can find somewhere closer with free water for a little more money, go there. I’d rather stay at a more professional hotel elsewhere.

The mattress was comfortable, neither too soft nor too firm, and the shower area was spacious, with great hot water and strong pressure. Water did leak through the gap in the shower door, though, and left the floor wet. There’s free tea and coffee on the table, and the fridge stays cold enough. The room was clean and a decent size. My main annoyance was the bright light coming from the bathroom in the morning, which made it hard to sleep. The hotel could design around that for guests. It was a great stay overall. Only female guests can check in.

This place has tens of hundreds of rooms, supposedly filled with women of age, each room with a different female, if you were to visit them all. There might be a manager, a cashier, and maybe security. That sounds like a very different business from a hotel. You've been warned.
