The only real letdown was breakfast. The buffet costs 150 HKD at reception or 200 HKD if booked beforehand, and either price feels like too much for what you get. Otherwise, it’s a very nice hotel in a great location, with clean, pleasant rooms that are just right for a couple’s getaway. I’d recommend it.

The location is excellent for getting around. Express bus A11 stops right outside, 7-11 is within a five-minute walk, and Wan Chai train station exit A1, which has no lift, is also about five minutes away. If you have lots of luggage, turn right to wait for the airport bus. Traffic is lighter there and it’s easier to cross. It costs HKD 41.90. My room was small and a little old, but still clean and comfortable. I liked the spare pillows in the cupboard, the curtains that fully close, and the dim little light under the fridge. There are USB and Type C connectors on both sides of the bed. Water is supplied in 310ml cans, though that’s definitely not enough. Housekeeping only did the bare minimum, perhaps because the room is so small, and there was no small round makeup mirror. There are two entrances facing different streets, but no one was usually there to open the heavy doors, and they aren’t automatic. I had to carry my luggage up and down the stairs at check-in and checkout. I’d checked out early, so when I needed the toilet I went to the level 2 in-house restaurant. The woman looked annoyed when she realized I was there for the toilet, not a meal. The hospitality needs a lot of improvement.

I’ve stayed here several times over the past two years and generally had a good experience. Jacky, the Front Desk Manager, is friendly and helpful, and his team is very professional. The location sits perfectly between Central, the business district, and Causeway, for shopping and dining. The rooms are clean and a decent size for Hong Kong. It would be good if management replaced the carpets on some floors. I’ll stay here again on my next visit. 😊

After dozens of stays over more than ten years, I won’t be coming back. The property has deteriorated, and so has the management. I arrived at 11pm and was put in a smoking room. I don’t smoke, and by morning my eyes were red and I was sniffling, so I asked to move to a non-smoking room. Nothing was available until later that day, and I ended up leaving a day early. Manager Chan refused to do anything, saying it was a prepaid room. Completely unprofessional and ridiculous. The room itself was run down, the AC barely worked, and I stubbed my toe on a strange tall marble step that blended into the bathroom. There are much better properties in Hong Kong.
