Hilton Garden Inn Hong Kong Mongkok

We had a very pleasant stay at Hilton Hong Kong. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the hotel is in a great location. We were especially touched by the lovely honeymoon surprise they arranged for us. The service was strong overall. Staff were professional and friendly, though a warmer welcome and a few more smiles would have made it even better. We only wished we could have accessed the rooftop and enjoyed the view. Still, it was a very good stay, and we’d gladly recommend the hotel.

The immediate neighbourhood might feel a little shady if you’re not familiar with Asian culture, but a ten-minute walk gets you to Mongkok, with plenty of places to eat and shop. The MTR station is there too, though moving around with large luggage can be tricky in the crowds. Service was what stood out most for me. Doris and Anthony at the front desk helped me get a higher-level room even though I’d paid for the lower rate. Since the hotel faces a flyover, those extra floors really helped with getting a good night’s sleep. Doris was especially attentive and helpful. The toiletries were great and more than enough, and the new hotel seemed clean throughout. My double-bed room was good, though a little more space would have been nice. It could get pricey in peak season, but the rate I booked was reasonable. I’d recommend it if you’re after a clean room and good service.

We went to Eagle's Nest for an early New Year's Eve dinner after getting half a day off on Saturday, and met up with some colleagues. They even reserved a parking space when we booked. The tables are still nicely spaced out, and there’s lots of room. Every time I’ve eaten here, I’ve been seated by the window. The panda bun with lotus seed paste was adorable. The restaurant staff recommended it, and you wouldn’t guess it was dessert without being told. Even the guys wanted photos with it, and I felt almost too mean to eat it. The nostalgic shrimp toast was fresh, fragrant, springy, and not greasy, with a nice contrast between the shrimp paste and toast. The abalone sauce lotus leaf rice came in a small portion but had plenty in it, with a lovely lotus leaf aroma. Those panda buns are definitely photo-worthy.

We arrived around 10:30 in the morning after an early flight, and the front desk managed to get us into a room straight away. It gave us time to rest before heading out to see the city. On checkout day, they also kindly let us stay until 3 pm, so we didn’t have to rush. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with a city view rather than a wall of another building. Housekeeping did a great job each day. Breakfast had a good range of options, and the staff there were friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Mongkok and would happily return.
