Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel

We liked that the MTR connects right to the hotel, though it's a bit of a ride from downtown. We were also relieved the pool was closed, and I suspect the place could be mayhem in high season. As a Titanium Marriott member, I'd expected M Club access and chose the property after reading a positive review about the club. At check-in, the clerk said access was only part of a special package rate we didn't have. Breakfast was still free and excellent, but the club restriction caught me off guard. The front desk staff were less friendly than I'd hoped. When we had to leave at 6:00 am for our flight, there was virtually nobody around, and we could hardly work out how to get out. I might stay again, but I'm unsure. It felt off the mark for a Marriott, and I think there are better options for the money.

The bigger rooms and easy MTR access made this a comfortable stay, and I had a very good experience overall. I stayed June 1 to 6, 2025, and was upgraded to a suite, which made it more enjoyable. The rooms are generally larger than in most Hong Kong city hotels, which was especially welcome for a longer visit. People say the hotel is far from the city, but I didn't find that. Ocean Park MTR Station on the South Island Line is a five-minute walk away, and Central or other key areas usually take no more than 30 minutes to reach. Breakfast had a great range, and the hotel is pet friendly. The team handled requests efficiently, though sometimes their manner felt indifferent for a hotel of this standard. When my daughter couldn't finish her club sandwich, I asked if it could be packed to take away. They gave me a box and asked me to pack it myself, which surprised me a little. That was a small issue in an otherwise pleasant stay.

Breakfast was delicious, with lots of variety, from Asian dishes to traditional British food. The only downside was the kids' breakfast price, since our booking covered only two adult breakfasts. The rooms were spacious, clean, well equipped, and felt fresh, though the hotel isn't brand new. We had a great short family stay in December. The hotel is beside the Island Line MTR station, so you can reach downtown in less than a quarter. It's slightly away from the city's business area but close to everywhere by MTR. We'll definitely come back.

We were grateful for the room upgrade with a tub, which the kids loved. Everything was really convenient for a family, and the service at the Pier Lounge was great. The kids' play area was a lifesaver, though an adult has to stay there with a child even if they're old enough to play on their own. Still, everything was top-notch at Marriott Ocean Park.
