I booked this last minute for my boyfriend, who’s in Hong Kong, after our plans suddenly changed. I wasn’t expecting much, but he could tell the place was very dirty as soon as he arrived. After checking in, he found a foul smell in the room and said the washroom smelled better. Since the Agoda booking was nonrefundable, he didn’t bother making a complaint; he checked out right away. The staff member he spoke with denied there was any odor. We booked another hotel nearby, accepting the loss and extra cost. This taught us to be more careful about informally run hotels made from apartments divided into cubicle units.

Small, but clean and centrally located, and the price is cheap. It’s hard to find a better fit for a budget traveler. If you want a spacious bathroom and more convenience, you may want to spend more.

We booked based on the photo showing a window and two beds, and I messaged them about it after booking. When we arrived, they put us in a tiny box of a room with no space for our feet or clothes, and no toilet door. When I asked why it didn’t match the photo, they said it was just a photo. A few days later, I saw that photo among many others, available for free. For what I paid, it was worth my place to live in Hong Kong. I’ve had cheaper places that were much better.
