Wan Chai felt much less crowded than Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, while still giving us the Hong Kong experience. The hotel is near tram, bus, and MTR stops, and there are at least four Michelin-recognized restaurants within walking distance, plus lots of other good food options. The hotel was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. People we met in Hong Kong were pleasant too, contrary to what I’d read about locals being rude. I don’t really understand those comments. Respect begets respect. The 5th-floor iLounge is open 24/7, with unlimited free tea and coffee, and the coffee is good. Our room had enough room for us to move around freely, though it wasn’t especially big. Wi-Fi was free and had good reception. The restroom couldn’t be fully sealed, though it had a really good exhaust. The water felt a little softer than I’m used to. We had a very pleasant stay.

Housekeeping were friendly, and the front desk was helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of popular Wan Chai areas, tram, train, and bus stations, with plenty of restaurants nearby. I recommend honolulu cafe and joy hing roast goose. The room was clean and more spacious than I expected, and the bathroom was spacious too. Water pressure was good. The sliding glass doors don’t seal off the toilet from the bedroom, though.

For what you get in Wanchai, this is great value. iClub is well placed for our needs, and the hotel was very clean. Housekeeping worked quietly without getting in the way. Service was impeccable, professional, and every staff member we met was approachable, very friendly, and helpful.

The room had an odd shape, but it was bright, clean, and fine. The location is great, with buses, trams, and taxis right outside and MTRC a short walk away. There are lots of stores and restaurants nearby. Check-in was busy when I arrived around 10 p.m., and I had to wait because only one person was on duty. Then the passkey didn’t work, so I had to go back to reception and wait again while it was reprogrammed.

Fantastic location, but the hallway smelled of smoke and the ventilation seemed poor. There was noise through the night too. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night without warning, and when I called reception, they told me to ignore it.
