EAST Hong Kong

A filtered water tap in the room was so convenient for refilling any time, and I liked the thoughtful design and layout. The higher floor gave me a fantastic view over the Bay and city skyline, lovely to wake up and fall asleep to. Rooms are large, beds very comfortable, and the showers are well designed. I do wish they'd included a bidet with the toilet. The air conditioning was off for me. It was 10-15 outside, but with the room set to 24°C it still felt freezing. I had to set it to 26, its maximum, or turn it off for hours to get comfortable. Breakfast on level 1 was good, but didn't have much variety. By day three I was eating the same things again. The hotel is right by TaiKoo MRT and Cityplaza mall, and check-in was quick and smooth. This is starting to be one of my favorite Hong Kong hotels and will be my choice when I'm back.

The rooftop bar Sugar was super chic, with excellent cocktails, and I also liked getting morning coffee from the shop featuring No Coffee from Japan. The hotel has a modern gym, a pool, and lots of lobby space to meet up, so it works for both work and play. My room was modern and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like USB-C plugs, filtered water stations I used every day, soft robes, and harbor views that made sunrise and sunset special. The location is very convenient, right by the MTR or a quick ten-minute car ride to Central. Loved my stay at EAST Hong Kong, and I'd absolutely come again.

The rooftop bar “Sugar” was a highlight, with a great atmosphere, fantastic cocktails, and a spectacular view over Hong Kong Island. Breakfast at the “Feast” restaurant was excellent too, with plenty of choice and fresh ingredients. My room was bright and very clean, with a breathtaking Victoria Harbour view that was especially beautiful at sunrise. EAST Hong Kong is modern and stylish, right above Tai Koo MTR station, so getting around the city was incredibly convenient. Staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. I'd recommend it for modern comfort, great service, and a relaxed, stylish atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite hotels in Hong Kong!

I've got really sensitive skin, and linen that hasn't been fully wiped down with wipes makes me itch all day. At hotels, I deep-clean the sheets and pillows with strong-smelling sprays, which are easy to recognize. When we needed the room cleaned, a staff member was right outside, so we specifically asked her not to change the sheets or make the bed, just to empty the bins. When we came back, the linen didn't smell like it had been sprayed, so it seemed to me that she changed it deliberately even though we'd asked her not to. The room felt odd too. The lights were very dim and the switches barely worked. The shower pressure was so low the tap probably worked better. The complimentary drinks weren't actually free, so it felt like they were there to trick you into having them. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with sensitive skin, or really to anyone in general.
